Giving In Ain't Defeat

Hello there, people. I’m on a month-long break from the hectic college life. And you know how the average day is like when you’re on holiday: Wake up, pray, eat, take a nap, stare at your phones and lappies, not focusing on the telly, being cooped up at home, scared that the sunlight will burn your pale skin. What, your day’s not like that? Lucky you. I’m imprisoned in my own home. It’s not my family’s fault. My friends are just not on holiday like I am. And I'm just too lazy to go out on my own. Besides, being with family ain’t so bad. We bond over game nights.

You can really feel our bonds strengthening. RELATIONSHIP LVL UP

And one of the things I have to bear with is Mom’s pearls of wisdom. Usually I’d just nod along to whatever advice she throws randomly. But most of them, if not all of them is very much helpful. Like that one time out of countless other moments my little brother and I scrambled for the front seat of the car. Yes, I know it’s childish. My mom noticed the disastrous scene breaking out and decided to pull me slowly out of the scuffle, letting my little brother enter. My heart was boiling, especially when I saw him sticking his tongue at me. I stared at my mom, waiting for an explanation.

She said: ‘You’re 18 already. Just give in to your little brother. It doesn't mean you lost. It just means you’re thinking of others.’

Now, I didn't read much into her counsel, because I was so full of emotions. But for the past few days, I finally see what she meant. To tell you the whole story in detail would probably take 2 to 3 pages, so I’ll just sum it up. One of my circles of friends is in what you can call ‘a negotiating period’ over a project. I became the middle person (I felt obliged to do so.) And what I witnessed was touching. One thing you have to know was that the main reason the group split into two very VERY stubborn sides was because of the disagreement of the location. And one girl, L was very enthusiastic over the initial location.

But she decided to let her wish go, for the sake of unity. She was willing to change location, just so everyone would be in this together. ‘Oh, it’s just a small thing.’ I hear you sigh. I don’t consider a feeling of excitement and dreamy wonder to be a small thing. To give up something you wanted so badly for somebody else is not a foolish matter. My mom’s words vibrated in my mind. She was very mature in handling this problem.

And now, I shall leave you a quote to ponder upon:

Giving in to people is not a sign of weakness. If it’s for a better future, it is an act of selflessness.

Neat, huh? Wanna use it, cite it back to yours truly. Yes, I created it. Is it a sign of me finally catching up to my age? No. The day I will be considered mature arrives when I will not fight over the front seat with my siblings.

And that day will probably never come.

How Come You Go To Tuition?

"How come you go to tuition?"

That's the one of the few questions headed my way when I stepped into the air-conditioned classroom. In fact, it's the FIRST question asked. All the time. Followed by a bewildered 'Youweren'tsupposedtobealive' stare. Cue my reply: "Why, I cannot come to tuition anymore meh?" It was fun to see people react this way the first couple of times, but after a while, it's kinda irritating.

Yes, I'm a fully residential school student. I stay in the school grounds 24/7. I practically breathe the boarding school. That does not mean I'm prohibited from joining tuition classes. Yeah, they're probably worried about me, spending time at the last place students would dare enter during a time where students could finally taste freedom (Yeah right, they will. I'd be a famous celebrity before the day arrives.)

Yet, there's a tiny part of me that urges me to strive hard and makes use of the time to revise during the hols. And if that part isn't enough to make me work, there's always dearest mummy. Besides, I'm sure all of us have screamed out "I'm gonna make use of my time well during the holidays!" at least once before. I know I did, every single time a holiday's nearing. I also know that those times were lavishly spent on watching TV, computers and sleeping (Hey, you can't blame a kid for having needs, especially one that has been deprived of all basic entertainments.)

But not this time. This year is very important for me, and all Malaysians my age. We're facing a major turning point of our lives, the SPM examinations. These exam results would determine our lives; whether we could soar into a bright future, or stay firmly on the ground, thinking of what would have happened had you studied. Of course, university life also plays a key part in determining your future, and so does working experience. Luck's also a large factor, but who cares? We needa hurtle through an obstacle at a time.

So yeah, I do need to go for tuition, even though I study day and night every single day at school for the past month and a half. And if anyone asks me why, I'll just say "How 'bout you?"

Year End Hols~!

Finally, the time of year students all over Malaysia has been waiting for! HOLIDAY!!! Which obviously means fun, fun, and MORE FUN! (Seriously, in my dictionary, holiday means fun.) I'm sure many are enjoying their lives to the fullest, especially the lil ones. Of course, the Form 5ers still have SPM on their minds, and the Form 4 kids are worried 'bout next year. Since I've got a lot of free time on my hands now, I'll try to update more often, though that may not be since I'm lazy. :P So... That's it at the moment. I'm glad you wasted your time reading this. :)

In an Empty School

So, there's only a few days left before Eid is celebrated all 'round the world, and students rejoicing as the hols start. Students like me. But unlike others, I get to experience what it feels like to wait for your parents in a boarding school, all alone. :)

It's true what my friends say, being in the school grounds with only the birds chirping, the trees swaying and some unknown species screeching is quite relaxing. You don't have to worry 'bout other people ruining your eardrums as they shout incoherent things. The students were so eager to get home. It took like, an hour for the place to go from hazardously loud to deadly silent. :D

But within all that calm and peacefulness, there's a sense of loneliness in my heart. Wandering 'round the empty school and dorms aches my heart. So I feel painful yet exhilarating. XD And I felt bored, even though there was a pile of comics next to me, and so many things that can be done. Like vandalizing, or rummaging through other people's stuff, but I don't do that. It's not nice. :) In the end, there was only the kitten I was entrusted to take care of this hols to keep me company. Though it was of no help at all. It slept all the while. ._________.

The kitten. So cute~ :D

I'm gonna end this by saying have a happy Eid and hols to everyone! Make sure you come back in one piece. ;)

One More Day Of Freedom

Sigh... It's nearly time to go back to school. After more than 2 weeks, I can finally declare tomorrow the last day of the half year school holiday, or HYSH for short... With a heavy heart. I still don't feel satisfied with the period of time the adults give us, though. D: So much to do, so little time! What can I do?

Oh well, all I can do now is to reminisce the past two weeks.

So, what did I do? Went out with friends, had a party with friends, made something for a friend. Going out with family, went to IOI Resort with family... So, it's basically going out. XD But there's still a lot more I wanna do. There's a whole lot of stuff on a kid's list, and I'm sure you guys agree. :) But fate won't let me have my ways. Better start counting the days till the start of the next holiday... Which is in August. T______T

After the Trip~ :D Plus the Pics!

Hi there~, how was your day? So, where did I leave yesterday? :)

Oh, yeah, the sushi shop. :D Well, pretty much nothing happened after that. We went back home right after eating. (Sad... I wanted to go 'round. D:) The best part was when we got together all our money and had our heads dizzy by trying to figure
out how much change each of us needed.
Eh, don't think we're dumb. We all aced our Maths! It's just that I got confused when they explained the problem to me! XD

Then, we just walked 'round the neighborhood for an hour or so, before stopping at the playground with a special guest appearance! :D

In case you dunno, this is the special guest: Kennard~! :D

We all played 'round and took pictures with my camera, and gossip, gossip, gossip! :D Well, it was just a casual chat, but to me, this is the closest I got to my class's 'Gossip Centre'! :) It's been a long time... I miss 2010. Wait, let me have a moment
please... *Wipes tears off face* ;'( But life goes on, whether you're prepared or not.

And so that's the end of my excitingly weird trip. With guys. XP ;D Happy Chinese New Year people~! :D :D :D

Mochi, mochi, mochi~ :3 Yummy yum yum! :D
Casual chat. ;)

Lastly, to all the Beliebers out there. This is gonna happen if he touches Malaysian ground. I'm sorry if you think I'm joking.
As you can see, his face is wrecked, and neck half ripped. :D I don't think this'll happen to him. Just black eyes and bruises. :)

A Boys' Day Out~! :)

Hello people, and a Happy Chinese New Year to you people. Yesh, it's too early, but who cares!? :D
I had a very fun day today. Very... Uh... Different. It's a boys' day out! It seems that Girls' Night Out sounds nicer though. XD

Today, me and my three guy friends (Ugh... It gives me chills to say that.) went to Sunway Pyramid to watch the Green Hornet, in 3D! :D :D :D It was very nice, 'specially Kato~! The Green Hornet is more of a comedy relief to me. But who cares? Everyone has a purpose. :) Oerall, I'd give it an 8/10! No full marks, 'cause I don't wanna be too generous~ But this is from my pointa view, so I don't care whether you like it or not. What matters is, DON'T BLAME ME IF YOU WATCH IT AFTER THIS AND DIDN'T FEEL THE SAME. :D :D :D

Afterwards, we went to a sushi place! It's called Sakae Sushi~ That was the best place I've been yet~ :D I've never, EVER been to a sushi place where there's mini conveyer belts everywhere~! :D

I will continue tomorrow. I feel too tired to write the rest of the parts. :D And besides, we need a lil suspense to spice our life. :) You with me, people~? Good! So, watch this space for me, and I bid you, G'Nite! :)
